An overview of asthma and its home remedies

 

Asthma is a long term chronic disease of the airways in the lungs.These airways are the bronchial tubes through which the respiration takes place. If a person have asthma then his airways are always inflamed. They became swollen and their muscles around the airways tightens when their asthma is triggered by something. Asthma does not have any cure. But it can be controlled and checked to a certain amount.

                                                                    Asthma can be a hereditary disease and mostly people is affected in the childhood and it lasts or the whole life.

Symptoms of Asthma:  Sneezing and coughing

                                              Wheezing sound

                                              Running out of air

                                              Difficulty in exercising

                                              Tightness in the chest

                                              Feeling dizzy and weak

                                             Heavy sweating and Rapid heart beats

                                              Feels like choking

                                              Dry mouth

 

Here is some of the home remedies for asthma:

 

Ginger:  It can help reduce airway inflammation and inhibit airway contraction. It is very helpful in curing asthma.

Make a paste of ginger with lemon juice and consume it two times a day.

Garlic:  Garlic is an excellent home remedy for asthma. You can boil four cloves of garlic along with half cup of milk. Drink it after it cools down.

                                                                                    You can also boil three cloves with a cup of water and then add two teaspoon of honey in it and gulp it.

Honey:   Take honey, basil leaf and ginger in equal amount and grind and mix it. Then take this mixture two times a day in the morning and evening.

Mustard oil:  Use only pure mustard oil. Mix the small amount of mustard oil with a tip of salt and apply it on the chest. Gently rub and massage your chest to get rid of asthma.

Figs:  Figs has a rich mineral contains including potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron and copper and is a good source of antioxidant vitamin A,E and K that contributes to health and wellness. It is also helpful to cure breathing difficulties like asthma.

Immerse some dried figs  in a bowl of pure water for a night. Eat the figs and drink the bowl of water in empty stomach.

Eucalyptus oil:  It is highly effective for treating respiratory disease like asthma. Using eucalyptus oil dilates the blood vessels and allows more oxygen into the lungs.

Mix eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil and coconut oil and made a home made vapor rub, and put it on your chest for an hour.

You can also put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in a glass of boiling water and then breath in the steam.

Coffee:  Caffeine is found in coffee. Caffeine is a drug that is very similar to theophylline. Theophyllline is a bronchodilator drug that is taken to open up the airways in the lungs and therefor relieves the symptoms of asthma, such as wheezing, coughing and breathlessness.

                                                                             Therefore regular intake of coffee in a minimal is may be helpful to curb asthma.

 

Mullein:  Drinking mullein tea regularly relieves asthmatic spasm.It also helps to prevent other asthmatic symptoms like coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.

 

Onions:  The sulphur presents in onions helps to decrease inflammation of the lungs. Raw onions clear the congested airways and improves breathing system.
